We’re talking about Rockin’ the Rivers 2018, the huge annual metal bash that unfolds over three days every August in Three Forks, Montana.

This year’s line-up may be the greatest we’ve seen, and you can bet Jack’s already lacing up his combat boots and stocking up on hair grease for his favorite weekend of the year.

But this time around, Jack’s taking some special guests. Two, in fact, who won’t just win tickets to the fest – they’ll be taking VIP passes. When it comes to holidays, none is perhaps more relaxing than Father’s Day.

What do we mean? We mean Dads are, typically, extremely easy to honor. Get him a necktie, tell him he’s the man, and then get on with your day. Men don’t like all that gushy stuff anyways, right?

But believe it or not, there’s an even easier way to make Dad happy on his special day. In the meantime, here’s some more details about the show:

Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti will join the Missoula Symphony Orchestra for a special performance Friday, June 15th, at Big Sky Brewing Company in Missoula.

Botti, an Oregon native, began honing his craft as a studio musician in 1985 and has performed around the world with both jazz masters and pop stars ranging from Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich to Roger Daltry and Paul Simon. Four of his albums were ranked No. 1 slot on Billboard jazz album charts, his latest – 2013’s Impressions – winning a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album.

“Symphony Under the Big Sky” marks the first of what is expected to be a series of outdoor summer performances co-hosted by Missoula Symphony Association and Knitting Factory Presents.

Last fall we asked you to send us your bad tattoos, and boy did you deliver!

We learned about one woman’s dragon tat that ended up looking like a beheaded fish, saw an example of some fine prison art – that wasn’t actually done in prison, and laughed a little at the woman who got her son’s name and date of birth on her arm, only to realize after the fact that the date was wrong!

In fact, we were so impressed that we’ve decided to do it again.

Yep, starting April 2nd send us a photo or description of your bad tattoo and how you’d like to cover it up, and we’ll give away a $100 gift card to The Steel Paintbrush in Hamilton every Friday through the end of the month.

And to really bolster the prize, we’ll throw in an extra $75 for the final Friday (April 27th). That one will go to the listener with the most unique tat idea.
